Venue

The FIIN 2027 conference venue is the Uppsala University Main Building (“Universitetshuset”). The building is just a few minutes walk from the city center.

The University Main Building was built in the 1880s. At the time, it housed all the University’s activities. Since then, the University has grown a lot, and today it is spread throughout the city. The University Main Building is still used for lectures, conferences, concerts and university ceremonies.

The conference is organized by the Feminism and Institutionalism International Network (FIIN), a body of feminist scholars from over 50 countries who study social and political institutions through a gender lens. FIIN was inaugurated at a workshop at the University of Edinburgh in December 2006. This conference thus marks twenty years of feminist institutionalism.
